Abstract
For 8 years, the authors have observed and treated, together with studies on the related literature, the 6 cases of delayed traumatic apolpexy following head injuries.
All cases but one occurred among the injured patients before 40, unlike age for arterioscleroisis.
All cases suffered from cerebral concussion or mild cerebral contusion with or without intracranial hematoma.
The intracerebral hematoma or apolexy, usually occurring within 4 months of injuries, developed from sevral dayes to 6 months of time in these studies.
The hematoma was found in the frontal and temporal lobes as its location in the majority of cases.
Good results were generally obtained after removing intracerebral hematoma except for abrupt and massive cases.
